Sayyid bin Musa

Sayyid bin Musa is a multifaceted visual artist, working as a painter, muralist, sculptor, and art tutor. Currently an artist and intern facilitator at Vodo Art Lab and Society, he is also the co-founder of Little Art World and Citone and Clay Interior Studio. Driven by a passion for redefining African representation in art, Sayyid’s portraiture celebrates the depth of African heritage—exploring themes of culture, history, wealth, and Black success. His work challenges reductive stereotypes, instead weaving intricate narratives through bold brushstrokes and symbolic contours that map geographical and historical significance. By evoking emotion and sparking dialogue, he amplifies the richness and diversity of African identity.

Expanding his creative practice, Sayyid has recently ventured into sculpture, crafting striking pieces from hand-mixed cement. Meticulously shaped, sanded, and refined, his functional yet artistic objects invite collectors to engage with texture, form, and timeless design. Each sculpture embodies a tactile harmony—blending raw materiality with elegance—while furthering his mission to merge aesthetics with cultural storytelling. Through painting and sculpture alike, Sayyid bridges past and present, transforming raw materials into profound statements of resilience, beauty, and belonging.
