On Holy Thursday, April 17th, 2025, Vodo Art Lab and Society returned to the Uganda Cancer Institute – Mulago for a special Easter Art Day, held in collaboration with our long-time partners at the Uganda Child Cancer Foundation (UCCF). The event was a quiet but powerful gesture—focused not on numbers, but on impact.
A small team of around 20 volunteers and artists spent the day engaging with children in the cancer ward through painting, storytelling, and creative activities. For a few hours, the hospital walls gave way to laughter, bright colors, and the kind of presence that doesn’t need to be loud to be meaningful.
Each child created their own Easter-themed artwork—some shy, some bold, all beautiful. These pieces will be auctioned at an upcoming UCCF fundraising event, with proceeds going directly to support treatment, care, and resources for children battling cancer.
We want to thank every volunteer and artist who showed up—not just physically, but emotionally. Your patience, energy, and care turned an ordinary Thursday into something unforgettable for the children, their caregivers, and for us.
This event is part of Vodo’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, and continues our growing partnership with UCCF. We’re committed to using art not just as expression, but as support. Not just as beauty, but as action.
